Righty ho ...

I've been quite busy recently.

Rob, Jess and I went on holiday at the end of August to the Isles of Scilly which was lovely. It was our first proper family holiday together. We only had four days away which was definitely not long enough. Jess was fairly well behaved although she had a cold/flu type thing while we were over there so she was very ratty and not very happy a lot of the time.

About a week after we got back home Jess had to be admitted to hospital with an enormous abscess on her neck which had to be operated on. I felt so sorry for her cos she couldn't close her mouth and was finding it hard to smile and yawn and feed, and being only 5 months the anaesthetic was probably quite traumatizing for her.
We spent about 4 days in hospital which was dreadful. I stayed with her for two nights and hardly got any sleep the whole time so I looked and felt like a zombie, and Rob stayed for the last night.

Anyway she's so much happier now and I think the reason she was so unhappy on holiday was because this thing was building up and it was obviously quite painful and stressful for her.

I've been collecting images that I'd like to work from over the past week or so and have been doing a little bit of sketching, but nothing amazing so I'm probably not going to upload it. Just finding the time to draw/paint/create is so difficult when you have a baby. Hopefully as she gets a bit older I will find more time to devote to art.
People keep asking me when I'm going to draw Jess but I'm not sure I really want to. The way it is in my mind is that if I muck up the drawing of her I will have ruined her face. And I know that sounds crazy cos I won't actually have mucked up her face but that's just how it feels.
Anyway I will get round to doing some creative stuff soon but it don't expect it will be anything spectacular as I've been out of the swing of things for a while. Need to get my skills back up to scratch.
