this is a pic of nina simone, a black singer who is rather amazing. shes quite famous but one of them ppl who u dont no hu it is but u no of the song. anywayz ... this was a bit of an experiment with a reference that my bf wanted me to draw. i decided to paint it because i could see a way that was easier than drawing .. ie. i did the black background first and then did the detail in grey and white over the top.
